Shack Island

Shack Island has an interesting and unique history. Located between Neck Point and Page Lagoon on the north side of Nanaimo, fishermen built cabins here in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Today, many of these “shacks” are cherished summer cottages inherited by their descendants. You can walk out to Shack Island at low tide.
